Saudi Arabia rolls out operational plan to support pilgrim safety during 2026 Hajj season

## Comprehensive Safety Measures for 2026 Hajj

Saudi Arabia has announced a detailed operational plan to ensure the safety of pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj season. The Ministry of Defence will coordinate efforts involving military, civilian, medical, and technical personnel across key locations such as Mecca and Medina.

## Military and Civilian Coordination

The plan includes deploying land forces for crowd management and hazardous material detection. The Royal Saudi Air Force will oversee airspace security and manage air traffic, while naval forces will handle security at seaports and holy sites with explosive detection and search-and-rescue teams.

## Medical and Emergency Services

Healthcare services will be available at 41 locations, including hospitals and clinics with over 1,100 beds and staffed by more than 2,160 medical personnel. Air medical evacuation will be operational 24/7 using four fully equipped aircraft.

## Additional Support and Programs

The ministry will also offer religious guidance and host foreign military attachés. Families of martyrs and injured personnel from coalition operations will receive support during the pilgrimage.
