Dubai Customs launches trade and logistics research centre with University of Dubai

## New Centre for Trade and Logistics

Dubai Customs, in collaboration with the University of Dubai, has inaugurated a new research centre aimed at enhancing trade logistics and customs innovation. This initiative is part of Dubai's efforts to bolster its economic growth and position as a global trade hub.

## Focus Areas

The newly established Center of Excellence will concentrate on research and policy development to improve customs systems, trade logistics, and supply chain resilience. It aligns with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double the emirate's economy size.

## Strategic Partnerships

The centre will collaborate with academic institutions, including Kühne Logistics University and Michigan State University, to integrate academic research with practical policymaking. This partnership aims to create a bridge between theoretical knowledge and operational practices.

## Innovation and Development

A student hackathon is also part of the launch, involving 33 teams and 110 students tackling challenges in trade and logistics. The event will focus on areas such as AI in customs, supply chain resilience, and trade sustainability.
