ADEK, Aldar boost Emiratisation in education pact

## Strategic Partnership for Emiratisation

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Aldar have formed a pioneering public-private partnership aimed at boosting Emiratisation in the education sector. This collaboration seeks to significantly increase the presence of UAE Nationals in key roles within Aldar-operated schools.

## Comprehensive Framework

The agreement establishes a framework where Aldar Education will focus on recruiting and developing UAE Nationals, while ADEK will facilitate entry pathways and training for Emirati candidates. This initiative aligns with ADEK's teacher talent approach, which emphasizes the importance of educators in achieving national educational goals.

## Key Figures and Goals

The partnership was formalized with the signing by Mariam Alhallami of ADEK and Sahar Cooper of Aldar Education. It aims to recruit over 300 UAE Nationals, including more than 100 new Emirati teachers, ensuring that all social studies teaching roles are filled by Emiratis within three years.

## Supporting National Priorities

This collaboration supports broader national objectives to enhance Emirati representation in teaching roles, particularly in social studies and other key subjects. Aldar's multi-year talent development program is designed to introduce new Emirati educators into the workforce by the 2030/2031 academic year.

## Structured Pathways

ADEK's Kon Moallim program, a postgraduate diploma in education, and the Midad teaching bootcamp are integral to preparing Emirati candidates for teaching careers. These programs help build a sustainable pipeline of qualified teaching talent.

## Long-term Commitment

The partnership also includes creating early-career pathways through internships and entry-level opportunities at Aldar Education, reflecting a commitment to nurturing Emirati talent from the ground up. A joint steering committee will oversee the implementation and track progress, ensuring alignment with national initiatives like NAFIS.
