When will summer end in the UAE? Here's the official date

## Transition to Autumn

The UAE's summer season is set to officially conclude on September 23 with the arrival of the autumnal equinox. This marks the start of autumn, although meteorologists often consider September as the beginning of the autumn season.

## Weather Changes

According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Emirates Astronomical Society, the intense summer heat, known locally as Al Qayz, starts to diminish in late August. This change is traditionally signaled by the appearance of the star Suhail, which is associated with cooler weather.

Despite the official end of summer, high temperatures persist through September. However, the Indian seasonal low-pressure system weakens, and thermal low-pressure systems from central Arabia continue to influence the region, bringing winds that can cause dust and reduce visibility.

## Atmospheric Conditions

September also brings a shift in wind patterns, with south-easterly winds in the morning and north-westerly sea breezes in the afternoon. Humidity levels rise, especially in the latter half of the month, increasing the likelihood of fog and mist in various areas.

## Summer Activities

During the summer, residents adapt by scheduling outdoor activities in the early morning or evening and frequenting air-conditioned venues during the day. Initiatives like the Dubai Mallathon, running from June 15 to September 15, encourage physical activity indoors.

As temperatures begin to ease in late August, outdoor parks, mountain areas, and desert destinations are expected to attract more visitors.
