## Expanded Recognition
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has achieved a significant milestone with its driving licence now recognized in 34 countries. This development allows Emirati citizens to either drive using their UAE licence or exchange it for a local one when residing abroad.
## Murkhoos Initiative
The UAE Ministry of Interior's "Murkhoos" initiative facilitates the recognition and exchange of driving licences for Emiratis. This initiative enables UAE citizens to drive in 33 countries without needing a new licence and exchange their licence in 34 countries upon residency.

The countries where UAE licences are recognized include Estonia, Albania, Portugal, China, Hungary, Greece, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Cyprus, Latvia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, Iceland, Montenegro, Israel, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, the UK, Austria, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Croatia, Texas (USA), North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Kyrgyzstan. South Korea allows licence exchange for residents only.
