## Major Crackdown on Corruption
Saudi Arabia's Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority, known as Nazaha, has arrested 130 individuals, including both citizens and expatriates, as part of a significant anti-corruption operation. This follows extensive inspections and investigations conducted throughout June.
## Ministries Involved
The arrests involve employees from five key ministries: Interior, Defence, Health, Municipalities and Housing, and Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. The charges primarily relate to bribery and abuse of public office.
## Ongoing Investigations
Nazaha has carried out 1,585 oversight inspections and is investigating 385 suspects. Some of those detained have been released on bail while legal proceedings continue. The authority is preparing to refer cases to the appropriate courts.
## Public Cooperation Encouraged
Nazaha emphasizes the importance of public involvement in reporting suspected corruption. The authority remains dedicated to combating financial and administrative corruption to protect public funds and promote integrity.
