65,000 engaged: How Abu Dhabi is transforming early childhood

## Abu Dhabi's Commitment to Early Childhood

Abu Dhabi is enhancing its focus on early childhood development, engaging over 65,000 people in 2025 through various initiatives. The Early Childhood Authority (ECA) has been pivotal in expanding services and fostering community involvement across the Emirate.

## Key Initiatives in 2025

Last year, the ECA expanded early intervention services to 18 hospitals and introduced new community spaces in areas like Al Falah. The launch of a Child Protection Policy for Sports Entities and the UAE Children’s Digital Wellbeing Pact aimed to ensure safe technology use for children.

## Community Engagement

A highlight was the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Week, where more than 65,000 participants engaged in over 300 activities, spending over 55,000 hours in educational and recreational pursuits. This event emphasized integrating early childhood development into daily community life.

## Looking Ahead

In 2026, as part of the Year of the Family, the ECA plans to build on these efforts by enhancing service coordination and improving early learning quality. The focus remains on supporting families and ensuring children receive the necessary foundation for future success.

## Long-term Vision

Dr. Yousef Al Hammadi of the ECA emphasizes that early childhood support is crucial for long-term societal benefits. By investing in young children, Abu Dhabi aims to foster a healthier, more educated, and productive future generation.
