## Emirates Anticipates Busy Summer for Young Flyers
Emirates is gearing up for a busy summer travel season, expecting over 3,500 children to fly alone in the coming weeks. This surge in unaccompanied minors comes as families embark on summer vacations before the new school year begins in Dubai.
## Unaccompanied Minors Service Details
The airline's Unaccompanied Minors Service is mandatory for children aged 5 to 12 traveling without an adult. This service can be booked up to 24 hours before departure. For those aged 12 to 15, traveling independently is an option, though parents can opt for additional support through the Young Passenger Service for a fee.
## Facilities and Support at Dubai Airport
At Dubai International Airport, young travelers can access a dedicated lounge equipped with PlayStation consoles, Wi-Fi, and refreshments. An Emirates specialist assists with check-in, security, and boarding, ensuring a smooth experience.
## Onboard and Arrival Assistance
During the flight, cabin crew provide meals, entertainment, and support. Special requests, such as seating arrangements or birthday celebrations, can be accommodated. Upon arrival, a specialist ensures the child is safely handed over to a designated guardian.
## Connecting Flights and Restrictions
For connecting flights, children can have a maximum layover of eight hours at Dubai International. Longer connections require airline approval, and overnight stays are not permitted unless an adult guardian is present.
