## New Tinting Rules
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has revised its vehicle window tinting regulations, now allowing up to 50% tint on side and rear windows. This change aims to enhance driver comfort and safety while maintaining road visibility.
## Front Windscreen Exemption
Despite the new allowances, the front windscreen must remain completely untinted. This ensures clear visibility for drivers, aligning with safety standards.
## Factory-Installed Tints and Paint Protection
Vehicles with factory-installed tinted side windows are permitted, provided they allow at least 30% visible light transmission. Additionally, matte paint protection films or vehicle wraps are allowed if they meet the required standards.
## Balancing Comfort and Safety
The updated rules are part of the ROP's initiative to simplify procedures for motorists while ensuring road safety. The changes consider Oman's climatic conditions and respond to motorists' feedback, aiming to balance comfort, visibility, and safety.
