Yas Island introduces ticketless parking: What visitors will pay from July 6

## New Parking System on Yas Island

Starting July 6, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi has implemented a new ticketless parking system at Yas Marina, Yas Bay Waterfront, and West Yas Plaza. This system utilizes automatic number plate recognition technology to streamline the parking process.

## How It Works

The new system eliminates the need for paper tickets and manual payments. As vehicles enter and exit the parking areas, cameras automatically scan license plates. Parking fees are then charged through the Salik system, or drivers can pay via SMS or the PARKONIC app if they do not have a Salik account.

## Parking Fees

At Yas Bay Waterfront and Yas Marina, the parking fee is Dh20 for the first hour and Dh10 for each additional hour. Diners at participating restaurants can enjoy up to three hours of free parking, while gym and beach users can receive up to six hours of complimentary parking per day with validation. At West Yas Plaza, the first hour is free, with a charge of Dh10 for each subsequent hour.

## 24/7 Operation

Unlike public parking systems, the PARKONIC-operated areas charge fees around the clock, including weekends and public holidays. This initiative is part of a broader partnership with PARKONIC, the UAE's largest private parking operator, which aims to enhance convenience for visitors.
