## Guangxi Region Hit Hard

In the southern region of Guangxi, intense rainfall and flooding from Typhoon Maysak have claimed at least four lives. The regional capital, Nanning, has raised its flood control emergency response to the highest level. Approximately 50,000 people have been evacuated, and eight remain missing.

## Viral Social Media Videos

Videos showing villagers in Guangxi attempting to catch snakes in floodwaters have gone viral, with a related hashtag gaining over 180 million views. Around 800 to 900 snakes escaped from a breeding farm that was washed away by the floods.

## Hubei Province Casualties

In Hubei province, thunderstorms and strong winds have killed 11 people and injured 331. One person is reported missing, and thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed. Tornadoes were also reported in the area.

## Landslide in Gansu Province

A separate landslide in Gansu province has resulted in five deaths, with 12 people still missing. Rescue teams are working to locate the missing individuals. The landslide initially left 33 people unaccounted for.

## Ongoing Weather Challenges

Heavy rains are expected to continue affecting parts of Guangxi and Guangdong. Authorities are monitoring water levels at key hydrological stations, with some expected to exceed warning levels significantly. The safety of reservoirs and embankments remains a concern as the region faces persistent rainfall.
