Monster typhoon Inday (Bavi) enters Philippines: Signal No. 1 raised over 7 areas in Luzon

## Typhoon Inday's Arrival

Super Typhoon Inday, internationally known as Bavi, has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility. The storm's center was located approximately 1,405 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, moving westward at a speed of 20 to 25 kilometers per hour.

## Weather Warnings Issued

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 for several areas in Luzon, including Batanes, Cagayan, and parts of Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora, and Catanduanes. These regions are expected to experience strong winds within the next 36 hours.

## Impact and Precautions

Although Inday is not expected to make landfall, it will enhance the southwest monsoon, leading to gusty winds, heavy rains, and rough seas across Luzon and possibly the Visayas. Sea travel has been suspended in northern and central Catanduanes, and the Philippine Coast Guard is enforcing strict safety measures.

## Public Advisory

Residents in affected areas are advised to secure loose objects, prepare emergency kits, and stay informed through official PAGASA updates. Those in coastal and low-lying areas should exercise caution due to potential flooding and strong waves.
