2026 Emmy nominations snubs: Stranger Things, Euphoria and Selena Gomez

## Major Shows Miss Out

The 2026 Emmy nominations have been announced, leaving fans surprised as some popular shows and actors were overlooked. "Stranger Things," despite its massive following, did not receive a nomination for Outstanding Drama Series. Similarly, "Euphoria" was also left out of the top drama category, although it did secure seven nominations overall, including one for Zendaya as Lead Actress.

## Unexpected Omissions

Jeremy Allen White, known for his role in "The Bear," was not nominated for Lead Actor in a Comedy, despite the show's strong presence in the Emmy race. Meanwhile, "Only Murders in the Building" saw Martin Short nominated, but his co-stars Steve Martin and Selena Gomez were not.

Paul Anthony Kelly's portrayal of John F. Kennedy Jr. in "Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette" did not earn a nomination, although Sarah Pidgeon was recognized for her role as Carolyn Bessette.

## Eligibility Issues

Some fan-favorite shows were not eligible for this year's Emmys due to the eligibility period. "House of the Dragon" Season 3 and "Every Year After" will compete in 2027. "Heated Rivalry" was ineligible due to its Canadian production status, which does not meet Emmy criteria.
