## US Military Action
The United States has launched a series of military strikes on Iranian targets, including an IRGC Aerospace Force facility in Bushehr, Chabahar port, and Iranshahr airport. This move aims to curb Iran's capacity to threaten shipping through the Strait of Hormuz following recent attacks on commercial vessels.
## Regional Reactions
The escalation has led to heightened tensions in the region. Air raid sirens were activated in Bahrain, and Kuwait intercepted missile and drone attacks. The situation has also impacted global oil prices, causing a significant increase.
## Casualties and Damage
Iran's health ministry reported that 14 people have died and 78 were injured over two days of US strikes. Among the injured, 47 remain hospitalized. The strikes have also resulted in power outages and infrastructure damage in affected areas.
## International Response
France's Foreign Minister accused Iran of violating a truce, which he claims led to the US strikes. Meanwhile, Iran's military has retaliated by targeting sites in Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain with drones.
## Economic Impact
The International Monetary Fund has revised its 2026 global growth forecast, citing the renewed conflict in the Middle East as a significant risk to economic stability. The IMF now projects a 3.0% growth rate, down from an earlier estimate of 3.1%.
