Dubai expands EV charging network at majlis and wedding halls

## New Partnership for EV Infrastructure

Dubai's Community Development Authority (CDA) has partnered with UAEV, the UAE's first government-owned electric vehicle charging network, to enhance EV charging infrastructure across the city. This initiative aims to support the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 strategy by installing charging stations at various community facilities, including Majlis, Councils, and Wedding Halls.

## Rollout Plan

The first phase of the project has already seen the activation of EV charging stations at Al Rashidiya, Al Barsha, and Nad Al Sheba Majlis. In 2026, the rollout will continue with installations at Al Khawaneej, Al Warqa, and Al Barsha Wedding Hall. By 2027, the network will expand to include Al Twar Wedding Hall, Al Awir, and Hatta Majlis.

## Supporting Sustainable Mobility

This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote sustainable transport options in Dubai. Sheikha Al Jarman, CEO of the Social Development Sector at CDA, emphasized the importance of integrating community services with environmental sustainability priorities. The project aims to make sustainable transport more accessible and foster environmentally friendly practices among residents.

## Future Goals

UAEV's Acting CEO, Ali Al Darwish, highlighted the significance of this partnership in making EV charging services more accessible. The collaboration is expected to enhance the UAE's EV charging infrastructure, with plans to deliver over 1,000 charging points by 2030. This expansion supports Dubai's sustainability goals and aims to improve the quality of life for its communities.
