Dubai Customs gears up for 3 million summer travellers

## Anticipating a Busy Summer

Dubai Customs is gearing up for a significant influx of travelers, with around three million passengers expected to pass through the city's airports in early July. This preparation is part of an integrated plan to ensure smooth operations during the peak summer travel season.

## Advanced Screening Technologies

To manage the increased passenger flow, Dubai Customs has implemented advanced technologies across its facilities. These include 19 baggage-screening systems and 77 detection systems, which help maintain high security standards while speeding up inspection processes. Notably, baggage screening times have been reduced to just seven seconds in certain areas, enhancing efficiency without compromising security.

## Enhancing Passenger Experience

In addition to technological upgrades, Dubai Customs is focusing on improving the overall travel experience. A guidance booklet has been introduced to inform passengers about items allowed into the UAE and the conditions for customs exemptions. Furthermore, new facilities are being developed for pet inspections at Dubai Airports’ Terminals 1, 2, and 3, ensuring a smooth process for travelers with pets.

## Strategic Planning and Coordination

Khalid Ahmed, Director of the Passenger Operations Department, emphasized that early planning and coordination with strategic partners have been crucial. The aim is to accommodate the expected rise in passenger numbers while maintaining service quality. Dubai Customs continues to invest in smart technologies and infrastructure to meet the growing demands of international travel.
