## New Biometric Centre in Jeddah
St. Kitts and Nevis is enhancing its biometric enrolment network in the Middle East by opening a new centre in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This facility is set to become operational during the week starting July 13, 2026, pending final confirmation.
## Expansion Plans
The Jeddah centre will be the fourth in the region, joining existing locations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Istanbul. Additionally, Iraq is expected to be added soon, although specific details are yet to be announced.
## Programme Goals
Launched on April 14, 2026, the National Biometric Enrolment and Passport Modernisation Programme aims to align St. Kitts and Nevis travel documents with international standards. This includes adopting practices used in the EU, US, and UK for identity verification and border security.
## Accessibility and Security
The expansion reflects a commitment to making biometric enrolment more accessible globally. The programme ensures that all biometric data is securely stored in encrypted systems under government control, adhering to international data protection standards.
## Enrolment Requirements
Citizens who obtained citizenship through the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizenship Programme, including dependants, must complete biometric enrolment by July 31, 2027. Passports issued before April 14, 2026, remain valid until the deadline, after which only biometric-enabled passports will be accepted.
## How to Enrol
Enrolment is available only at designated centres and must be booked through the official Government of St. Kitts and Nevis Biometric Enrolment Platform. The process takes 15 to 30 minutes and requires an appointment, which can be arranged by registering with an Authorised Agent.
