Mumbai travellers get new Abu Dhabi flight as Navi Mumbai airport goes international

## New International Service

Navi Mumbai International Airport has commenced its first international flight service, connecting the Mumbai Metropolitan Region directly to Abu Dhabi. This new route, operated by Air India Express, offers three weekly flights and marks the airport's entry into international operations.

## Expanding Connectivity

The launch of the Abu Dhabi service enhances travel options between Mumbai and the UAE, providing an alternative to the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. Since its opening for domestic flights in December 2025, Navi Mumbai Airport has already served over 2.3 million passengers and established connections to 46 domestic destinations.

## Future Plans

The airport plans to expand its international network with more routes and airlines. The inaugural flight also included the first shipment of perishable goods, opening new opportunities for Indian exporters. This development is expected to boost aviation capacity and strengthen trade and tourism links between Mumbai and international markets.
