In a tragic incident in Ghaziabad's Modinagar, a 32-year-old man named Nikhil allegedly shot his father, Hariom Chaudhary, following a heated argument over a property dispute. The altercation reportedly occurred late on Wednesday night when Nikhil returned home intoxicated.

## Details of the Dispute

Hariom Chaudhary, a wealthy farmer from Budana village, owned approximately 75 bighas of land and several commercial properties. The family's assets are valued at around Rs 150 crore. The dispute arose over the division of this property, which had not been legally transferred to Nikhil, despite his demands.

## Sequence of Events

According to police reports, the argument escalated when Hariom questioned Nikhil about his drinking habits. In response, Nikhil allegedly used a pistol to shoot his father multiple times, resulting in fatal injuries. Hariom was declared dead upon arrival at a nearby hospital.

## Legal Actions and Investigation

Authorities have registered a murder case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Multiple police teams have been formed to locate Nikhil, who is currently on the run. Investigators are also revisiting a 2018 incident where Nikhil allegedly shot his younger brother during another family dispute.
