## Court Ruling
In a recent case, the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil and Administrative Court has upheld a decision requiring a driver to pay Dh20,000 in compensation. The driver was found guilty of intentionally crashing into another vehicle and verbally abusing the other driver in public.
## Incident Details
The incident involved the defendant pursuing the victim on the road and deliberately colliding with his car twice. This caused significant damage, rendering the vehicle unusable. The confrontation escalated with the defendant threatening and insulting the victim in front of bystanders.
## Legal Proceedings
Following an investigation, the case was referred to the criminal court. The Bani Yas Misdemeanours Court convicted the defendant, a verdict that was upheld on appeal and confirmed by the Court of Cassation.
## Impact on Victim
The victim reported both financial and psychological harm due to the incident. He faced delays in repairing his vehicle as he awaited the conclusion of the criminal proceedings. The court recognized the defendant's actions as endangering the victim's life and safety.
## Compensation
Initially, the victim received Dh10,000 as temporary compensation. He later filed a civil case for further damages, leading to the court's decision to award an additional Dh20,000.
