## Safe Return to the Philippines

A two-year-old Filipino girl, abandoned shortly after birth, has safely returned to the Philippines from Dubai. Her journey home was made possible through collaboration between UAE and Philippine authorities.

## Journey from Dubai

The child had been residing at the Family Village in Al Warqa, Dubai, since she was four months old. This shelter provided her with a nurturing environment while arrangements for her return were underway. On July 9, she arrived at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport, accompanied by Cherrylene Girado, a social welfare attache from the Migrant Workers Office in Dubai.

## Custody and Care

Upon arrival in Manila, the girl was placed under the protective custody of the Philippine Department of Social Welfare and Development. This agency will oversee her care and determine her future placement, ensuring her safety and well-being.

## International Cooperation

The successful return of the child highlights the effective cooperation between UAE authorities and the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers. This effort underscores the commitment to safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable Filipinos abroad.
