Dubai Court dismisses Dh3.9 million claim in disputed business deal

## Court Dismisses Business Dispute Claim

A Dubai court has dismissed a Dh3.9 million claim in a business dispute involving allegations of breach of trust. The case involved a commercial partnership between three individuals, where two partners accused a third and four others of deception in a deal they described as suspicious.

## Criminal and Civil Proceedings

Initially, the case was referred to the Dubai Criminal Court, which acquitted the defendants. The matter then proceeded to the civil court, where the claimants sought Dh3.899 million and the return of two cheques totaling Dh12.95 million.

## Lack of Evidence

The court ruled that the claimants failed to establish a contractual link with the companies involved. It noted the absence of signed quotations and proof of purchase order receipt. Additionally, one company's trade license did not cover the goods in question, undermining the claim.

## Cheques and Counterclaim

Regarding the cheques, the court found no evidence they were conditional or lacked lawful cause. A counterclaim for Dh2 million in damages for alleged litigation abuse was also dismissed, as the court emphasized the right to seek judicial redress without evidence of bad faith.
