Dubai family visit visa: Minimum salary requirements, explained

## Sponsoring Family and Friends in Dubai

Residents of Dubai looking to sponsor family or friends for a visit must meet specific salary requirements set by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). These requirements vary based on the relationship between the sponsor and the visitor.

## Salary Requirements

For first-degree relatives, such as parents, spouses, or children, the sponsor must earn at least Dh4,000 monthly. For extended family members, including siblings, grandparents, and cousins, the minimum salary requirement is Dh8,000. Sponsoring a friend requires the highest salary threshold of Dh15,000 per month.

## Eligibility and Documentation

Sponsors must hold a valid UAE residence visa and Emirates ID. Proof of income is necessary, which can be shown through a salary certificate, an attested labor contract, or business ownership documents. When sponsoring family, documents proving the relationship, like birth or marriage certificates, must be attested.

## Additional Requirements

Applicants may need to provide a copy of the visitor's passport, a recent photograph, proof of accommodation, a return flight ticket, and health insurance for the visitor. Fees for single-entry visas start at Dh200 for 30 days, with additional costs for longer stays and a refundable security deposit of Dh1,000.

## Application Process

Applications can be submitted online through GDRFA Dubai's platforms or at authorized AMER Centres. Meeting the salary requirement is crucial for the approval of a visit visa.
