## Fare Revision Talks
Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has initiated discussions with the Abu Dhabi Government to potentially revise taxi fares following its acquisition of National Taxi. The decision on fare changes will ultimately be made by the authorities.
## Acquisition Details
DTC's acquisition of National Taxi, valued at Dh1.45 billion, has increased its market share to approximately 12% in Abu Dhabi and 59% in Dubai. This move is part of DTC's broader strategy to expand its operations across the UAE.
## Integration and Expansion Plans
The integration of National Taxi is expected to yield operational savings and benefits over the next three years. DTC plans to extend its discounted fuel agreements and streamline procurement processes. The company is also exploring expansion opportunities in Ajman, Sharjah, and other cities.
## Autonomous Taxi Initiative
DTC is testing 50 autonomous taxis in partnership with Apollo, with plans to expand to 1,000 vehicles in the next few years. The trials will assess safety and performance, with a broader rollout anticipated by 2027.
## Market Outlook
DTC anticipates a recovery in taxi demand by the fourth quarter, following a decline in the second quarter. The company completed 10.3 million trips in Q2, with revenue dropping due to reduced airport and tourism activity. However, delivery bike and bus revenues saw growth, supported by government contracts.
