## Etihad Rail's Inaugural Service

The UAE's first national passenger rail service, Etihad Rail, commenced operations on June 30, 2026. The initial route connects Abu Dhabi's Mohammed Bin Zayed City to Fujairah, offering a travel time of 1 hour and 45 minutes. ## Upcoming Station Openings

The next phase of the Etihad Rail expansion will see new stations opening in Dubai and Al Dhaid on September 30, 2026. Following this, Madinat Zayed and Liwa stations are set to open on November 30, 2026, extending the network into the Al Dhafra region.

Further expansion in Al Dhafra will occur on December 30, 2026, with the opening of stations in Al Sila, Al Dhannah, and Al Mirfa. The final station in this phase, Sharjah University City, is scheduled to open on March 30, 2027.

## Ticket Pricing and Discounts

Etihad Rail offers introductory fares starting at Dh55 for Comfort Class and Dh120 for Premium Class. Discounts are available for children, seniors, and infants, with tickets purchasable via the Etihad Rail app or website.

## Broader Impact

The full passenger network aims to connect 11 cities across approximately 900 kilometers, enhancing inter-emirate connectivity and providing a sustainable travel option. Trains will travel at speeds up to 200 km/h and offer amenities such as Wi-Fi and power outlets.
