## Expanding Medical Aid in Gaza
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is intensifying its support for individuals in Gaza who have been injured, providing essential medical and rehabilitation services. Through the initiative known as Operation Gallant Knight 3, the UAE has delivered over 400 tonnes of medical supplies to the region.
## Comprehensive Rehabilitation Efforts
The program extends beyond immediate medical care, offering long-term rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and psychological support. This initiative aims to help amputees and those with severe injuries regain mobility and improve their quality of life.
## Addressing Equipment Shortages
A significant portion of the disabled population in Gaza has lost essential mobility aids due to repeated displacements. The UAE has responded by supplying hundreds of wheelchairs, including specialized ones for individuals with complex mobility issues.
## Step of Hope Program
The UAE has launched the Step of Hope program to assist those who have lost limbs. This program includes medical assessments, the production and fitting of prosthetic limbs, and ongoing care. Initially, prosthetic limbs are manufactured at the UAE Floating Hospital in Egypt, with plans to establish local production facilities in Gaza.
## Future Plans and Funding
The program began by fitting prosthetic limbs for 40 patients, with plans to expand based on needs. Additional funding from organizations like Sharjah Charity International and Dar Al Ber Society supports the initiative, which also includes muscle strengthening and psychological support as part of the rehabilitation process.
## Humanitarian Commitment
This effort is part of the UAE's broader humanitarian strategy, focusing on restoring independence and dignity to those affected by the conflict in Gaza.
