## New Facility to Enhance Food Security

Sharjah has introduced a new National Food Factory at the Al Dhaid Date Festival, aiming to bolster food security and support local farmers. The initiative, developed by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), is located in the Hamda area of Mleiha.

## Expanding Agri-Industrial Sector

The factory is designed to expand Sharjah's agri-industrial sector by offering comprehensive services in food processing, packaging, storage, and logistics. Once operational, it will have an annual production capacity of 5,000 metric tonnes, focusing on dates and vegetables.

## Supporting Local Farmers and Businesses

The facility aims to increase the commercial value of local agricultural products and enhance their competitiveness in various markets. It will serve date farmers, agricultural companies, and businesses in the hospitality and catering sectors.

## Strategic Development for Sharjah

Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI, emphasized that the factory represents a strategic step in linking local agricultural production with an advanced industrial ecosystem. This development is expected to provide farmers with opportunities to improve product quality and competitiveness.

## Advanced Storage and Logistics

The facility will feature advanced refrigerated and dry storage with modern inventory management systems, ensuring efficient product movement across the supply chain. This initiative reinforces Sharjah's position as a regional hub for food security and sustainable economic growth.
