RTA opens new road cutting travel time by 60%

## New Roadway in Dubai

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has opened Al Rowaiyah Street, a new 3.5-kilometer road that connects Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street. This development is part of a broader initiative to improve the city's road network.

## Enhanced Connectivity

The new street enhances access to key areas such as Dubai Silicon Oasis, Nadd Hessa, Dubai International Academic City, and Warsan 4. It aims to support the city's growth by providing better connectivity and accommodating increasing traffic demands.

## Traffic and Safety Improvements

The project includes converting a roundabout into a signalized intersection on Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street to improve traffic flow and safety. Additionally, 2 kilometers of cycling tracks have been added to promote healthier transportation options.

## Increased Capacity and Reduced Travel Time

The improvements boost traffic capacity by 40% and cut travel time to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road from 10 minutes to just four minutes, benefiting over 80,000 residents by 2030. This project is a significant step in enhancing Dubai's infrastructure and ensuring smoother travel across the emirate.
