Emirates Group wins UAE’s top sustainability seal again after major green push

## Prestigious Recognition

Emirates Group has once again been awarded the UAE's highest sustainability accolade, the Platinum Impact Seal, for its significant contributions to environmental and social governance. This marks the second consecutive recognition for the group, highlighting its ongoing commitment to sustainable practices.

## Environmental Initiatives

The group's efforts include substantial fuel savings and investments in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). In 2024-25, Emirates saved over 98,000 tonnes of fuel, reducing carbon emissions by more than 312,000 tonnes. Additionally, the airline purchased over 28,000 tonnes of SAF in 2025-26, cutting emissions by 93,000 tonnes.

## Solar and Recycling Projects

Emirates has also advanced its clean energy initiatives by installing nearly 40,000 solar panels at its Engineering Centre, covering 37% of the facility's energy needs. The airline's recycling efforts have repurposed over 88,000 kilograms of inflight service items, while materials from its retrofit program have been upcycled into new products.

## dnata's Sustainable Operations

dnata, part of the Emirates Group, is transitioning to cleaner operations by replacing diesel-powered equipment with hybrid and electric alternatives. In 2025-26, 17% of its global fleet was electrified, and renewable energy accounted for 15% of its total consumption. The company also significantly increased its use of alternative fuels and reduced waste across its operations.
